‘Tis the Season for Christmas Trees
Depending on how you feel about the holidays sometimes prevents your excitement about getting a Christmas Tree. You may have switched to an artificial tree. You may not have a tree at all. Well some of us still look forward to going to the local Christmas Tree Lot to search for the perfect tree. There is usually a chill in the air and festive Christmas music jingling through the lot.
You finally pick the one… Rope it to the roof of your car.. Head home. After you select the perfect spot in the family room, you lace it with lights, hang time honored ornaments, and then add a few new beauties you found at the local craft fair or souvenir shop from your yearly vacation spot. Then you sit back on the sofa sipping your favorite hot chocolate with mini marshmallows.
After spending several days or weeks enjoying your beautiful Christmas Tree it will be time to say goodbye. Now what?
Some towns have a pick up or drop off point but I found other opportunities from the National Christmas Tree Association:
- Curb side pick up
- Drop off site for recycling
- Cut/Saw tree into smaller pieces and put in yard waste
- Soil erosion barriers
- Fish feeders
- Bird feeders
- Mulch
- Line trail for hiking
In Cobb County, GA there will be several opportunities to recycle you Christmas Tree:
